“There are a lot of talented people and amazing venues in mid-Michigan. The movie was filmed at various locations in the area, including the Historic Masonic Temple in Bay City, Old Hope Cemetery and a stretch of 40 acres of private woods along M-20. “We had a lot of fun putting in a lot of 'Easter eggs' and having characters show up from one short to another.” ![]() “It’s really cool not only from a directing standpoint, directing five different mini movies, but from a writing standpoint,” Guiles said. With the compartmentalization, it was easier to break up the schedule and the format allowed for more creativity, as characters from different shorts make appearances in multiple segments of the film. The cast is the largest that Guiles and Ginter have worked with, as 20 people were involved, not including the extras and production team. ![]() Once the pandemic began, they decided to adjust to an anthology format to allow the cast to better share the acting commitment. The duo had the idea for the film prior to the pandemic, revolving around a slasher flick on a campground. “It’s a variety of horrors,” Ginter added. ![]() “Every story has a nice twist to it,” Guiles said. More anecdotes come into play as the friends regale each other with scary tales, including about a serial killer and a cult, among other features.
